Welcome to the South Carolina District!

The South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene is
a growing and progressive district composed of 64 churches and NewStarts and seven different mission areas.

The state is divided into three geographical regions. 
On the eastern side of the state we have the beautiful, coastal Low Country, which includes the magnificent Grand Strand beaches. The state capital, Columbia, is the center of the Midlands, and the Upstate has the striking beauty of the mountains.

Our people are as beautiful and diverse as our geography. The state’s population of 4.3 million is varied and ethnically diverse with many opportunities for multicultural ministry.

The district has a lovely 30-acre campground, the D. Moody Gunter Camp and Retreat Center, with accommodations for over 300 people. The center is a year-round camping and retreat facility near Batesburg.
